Lot 2320
Constantine I (?), 307/310-337. Follis (Bronze, 17 mm, 2.45 g), uniface mint error, Treveri, 330-331. Blank. Rev. GLOR-IA EXERC-ITVS / TRP• Two soldiers standing facing each other, each holding inverted spear in his outer hand and placing his inner hand on shield set on ground; between them, two signa. RIC 518 ff. Very fine.

Ex Leu Web Auction 10, 8 December 2019, 1686 and previously from the Tetrarchy Collection, formed over the past twenty-five years.

This uniface mint error probably resulted from a second flan being stuck in between the coin and the obverse die. We have tentatively attributed it to Constantine I, but it could also be an issue of Constantine II or Constantius II.
